The Club Forum
The Forum is an online place where club members can ask or answer questions, seek or provide help on topics of interest, message other members or generally just communicate with one another.

- Who can access the Forum? Only signed-in members of Thornbury Camera Club can access the information and features of the Forum
- What can you do in the Forum?
- Forum: Post questions or information to any of a number of pre-defined categories; view and comment on the posts of other members; optionally be updated when new posts or comments are added
- Members Area: Set up information about yourself that you would like other members to see; view the information on others; optionally follow other members and be updated when they add a post
- Chat: chat to other members of the Forum, either individually or by forming a group with others

- What personal data is stored and who can see what I do on the Forum?
- The Forum is a Members-Only site, members have to be logged-in before they can access any pages
- As part of the Sign-Up process, members have to provide an email address and password which are used to verify their identity when logging in
- Each member has their own profile which contains the following:
- Display name, photo and personal bio – once completed these are visible to all other members (Display name by default is set to the first part of email address)
- Email address is visible to anyone with Forum Admin access (currently 3 committee members)

- All posts, comments and replies added by a member to a Category on the Forum are visible to all other members with access to that Category (some Categories have restricted access). Members may subsequently update or delete their own posts, comments and replies but cannot change those of other members
- Forum Admins have access to all Categories and are able to delete, move (to another Category) or close (for further comment) posts and can delete comments and replies but will only do so in exceptional circumstances
- With Members Chat – chat text is only visible to the members involved in the chat (either an individual or all members of a chat group) but not to other members, including Forum Admins

- Are there any rules for using the Forum? There are guidelines about content on the forum, that are shown whenever you create a new post. There are also guidelines for filling out your Member Profile that are posted in the 'About the Forum' category. In summary, the main Forum rules are:
- Be polite to others
- Don't post anything that is not relevant to Thornbury Camera Club and its members
- Don't post anything containing personal information, such as email address or phone number
- Do not critique or edit images unless it has specifically been asked for by the author (see next question)
- How does the Forum manage Images?
- Images may be loaded by members in a number of places within the site: as a profile photo and member profile background; added to a post, comment or reply or added to a chat message
- Images can also be loaded to a Category or other web-pages by the Forum Admins
- Images may also be loaded as files e.g. in a post, comment or reply
- •The following guidelines apply to images loaded to the site:
- Any images for the site should follow the club standard size of not larger than 1600*1200
- There is a limit of 1MB on the size of files & images loaded to the site
- Members should refrain from critiquing other members images unless it has been specifically requested (e.g. by posting to the ‘How to Improve my Image’ category)
- Members should not download and/or edit other members’ images without the permission of the author
- Any images for the site should follow the club standard size of not larger than 1600*1200
- How to use notifications. You can decide how you receive email notifications from the site. Either click on your login icon in the top right corner or click on the Members tab to view / update your profile. The Notification options can be found under Settings.
- Can I get posts removed from the site? You can remove (or update) any post or comment that you've created, but please make sure that other people's posts and comments still make sense. You cannot remove other people's posts and comments but you can report these and the Forum Admins will consider the best action to take. Click on the 3 dots on the right hand side of a post or comment to find the Report action.
